I assume you've seen my post which explains how I do it?

Unfortunately it does require a modified init binary as Mark suggested to overcome the problem I was having. I would like to know if there is anyway too.

Yes... exactly what I mean.

Have you been able to produce results by "edit[ing] the "init" program on your machine, and change the name of the "player" file to something else, which would be the name of your script"?

I tried Mark's suggest of moving the player binary into another directory but that doesn't seem to work.

Yeah, I tried that too, but had the same problems as described in the your earlier post.

I also tried editing the init binary file, but could only find references to /empeg/bin/player with the "-i" option. I couldn't find any references to the original player binary.

So what's next? - edit source and compile the init file manually?

/empeg/bin/player is the player binary. Change that string to point at your script. (and keep a backup copy).

The init doesn't run after I made the change.

Boot up sequence stops at:

Freeing unused kernel memory: 4k init

I had to re-apply developer image and hijack.

Ditto here as I replied in the original thread I linked to at the top.
